Finally got back to banding, after 2 days with too much rain! It was muddy and damp, but we made the best of it! A fair amount of activity among our locally breeding Yellow Warblers - only banded 2, but had 7 recaps (birds we had caught previously this year) and 5 returns (birds caught for the first time this year but banded in previous years).
-- Here's the breakdown on the birds caught for the first time this season:
Dusky Flycatcher 2
House Wren 2
Gray Catbird 2
Yellow Warbler 2 new, 5 returns (2 from 2014, 1 from 2012, and 2 from 2009)
Western Tanager 1 (FOS)
Green-tailed Towhee 1
Lincoln's Sparrow 1
Lazuli Bunting 1
Open daily, weather permitting, through the end of May, from about 7:30 to 11.
