--A Gray Flycatcher was reported by Alec Hopping at Cherry Creek SP on May 12.
--A Least Flycatcher was reported by Cheryl Teuton in trees behind Swim Beach at Cherry Creek SP on May 19.
BACA COUNTY:
--At Cottonwood Canyon on May 18, Mlodinow reported RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, 4 Broad-winged Hawks, 10 Canyon Towhees, and 3 Painted Buntings.
--On May 18, Mlodinow reported Scissor-tailed Flycatcher in Walsh.
BOULDER COUNTY:
--A Bewick's Wren was reported by Ted Floyd at the SW corner of Teller Lake #5 on May 16.
--A Baltimore Oriole was reported by Kent Forward at Teller Farm and Lakes on May 16.
--An Upland Sandpiper was reported migrating over Greenlee Preserve in Lafayette by Ted Floyd on May 18.
--An EASTERN MEADOWLARK was reported by Paula Hansley at Hodgson-Harris Reservoir in Superior on May 17.
--A m Magnolia Warbler was reported by Thomas Heinrich along Boulder Creek below CU/Folsom Stadium on May 19.
DELTA COUNTY:
--A COMMON GROUND-DOVE was reported by Jason Beason in Paonia on Lund Road where it meets Mathews Lane or slightly down Lund Road on Pavement on May 13.
--A Curve-billed Thrasher was reported by Robinsong along the Uncompaghre River in Confluence Park on May 14.
DOUGLAS COUNTY:
--Along the South Platte at Chatfield on May 12, Suddjian reported 3 Least Flycatchers, Gray Flaycatcher, Rock Wren, and Broad-winged Hawk.
ELBERT COUNTY:
--On May 18, Suddjian reported Red-headed Woodpecker and Summer Tanager on CR 149 S of Matheson.
--On CR 197 S SE of Matheson Suddjian reported flyover Upland sandpiper, 2 McCown's Longspurs, Hood Warbler, and Palm Warbler on May 18.
EL PASO COUNTY:
--A Baltimore Oriole was reported by tyler Stuart at the NW corner of Sinton Pond in Colorado Springs on May 12. On May 13, Dan String reported Baltimore Oriole at NW corner of Sinton Park Pond and on the s side an ad Worm-eating Warbler. On May 14, David Tonnessen reported Baltimore Oriole at Sinton Pond and Robb Hinds reported Worm-eating Warbler at Sinton Pond. On May 15, Robb Hinds and Mark Chavez reported Baltimore Oriole continues at Sinton Pond. On May 16, Jessop and Gonzalez reported Balitmore Oriole at Sinton Pond. On May 17, Drummond and Tonnessen reported Baltimore Oriole at Sinton Pond.
--A Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was reported by Aaron Driscoll at Clear Springs ranch on May 14. Directions: Take exit 123 off I-25.
Go to east side of Hwy, cross RR tracks and turn left. The bird was sitting on fence west side of alfalfa field.
--A molting male Summer Tanager was found by Dan Carragher at Fountain Creek RP on May 17.
--A Least Flycatcher was banded by Steve Brown at Clear Springs Ranch on May 18.
EL PASO/PUEBLO COUNTIES (CB):
--On May 13, near headquarters, Percival reported 1 -2 Least Flycatchers on May 13.
FREMONT COUNTY:
--On the McKenzie Section of the Canon City Riverwalk on May 16, Robb Hinds reported Golden-winged Warbler and Broad-winged Hawk.
JEFFERSON COUNTY:
--On May 12, Suddjian reported Eastern Phoebe at Kingfisher Bridge and Eastern Phoebe at Deer Creek.
--A Gray Flycatcher was reported by Mckenzie Goldthwait in the Horse Stable Area at Chatfield on May 10. On May 11, Matt Clark reported Gray Flycatcher at Horse Stable Area of Chatfield.
--A Gray Flycatcher was reported by Scot Somershoe at Chatfield on May 16.
--On May 13, Mark Chavez reported that the male Blue-winged Warbler has returned to Welchester Tree Grant Park and was
eventually seen in the eastern section of the park where it was seen last year. On May 14, Alec Hopping reported Blue-winged Warbler at Welchester Tree Grant Park. On May 15, Robert Martinez reported Blue-winged Warbler and 3 Yellow-throated Vireos at Welchester Tree Grant Park. ON May 16, Gent reported that the Blue-winged Warbler continues at Welchester Tree Grant Park.
On May 17, Shoup and Lutomski reported Blue-winged Warbler at Welchester Tree Grant Park. On May 18, Yusuff and Chavez reported Blue-winged Warbler at Welchester Tree Grant Park. On May 19, Mark Obmascik reported Blue-winged Warbler at Welchester Tree Grant Park.
--A Least Flycatcher was reported by Suddjian at Hildebrand Ranch on May 18.
KIT CARSON:
--A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Gaede and Peterson at Fairview Cememtery on May 16.
--A Golden-winged Warbler was reported by Gaede and Peterson at Flager Reservoir SWA on May 16
LARIMER COUNTY:
--A Gray Flycatcher was reported by Lori Zabel at the Environmental Learning Center in Fort Collins on May 14.
--2 imm Lesser Black-backed Gulls were reported by Nick Komar at the Larimer County Landfill on May 16.
--A f Chestnut-sided Warbler was reported by Leatherman at Prospect Ponds/Environmental Learning Center at the NE corner of southern most pond along Sharp Point on May 17. A Broad-winged Hawks fly over was reported by David Wade in the N section of ELC on May 17.
--On May 18, Sean Walters reported an Upland Sandpiper flying over his yard near Taft and US 287.
--On May 19, David Wade reported Worm-eating Warbler and Gray Flycatcher at McMurry Ponds NA. McMurry Ponds is on Hemock St off of N College Ave. in Fort Collins. On May 19, Dave Leatherman found a m MOURNING WARBLER at McMurry Ponds NA.
--A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Josh Burening at Lee Martinez Park on May 18.
--A Red-headed Woodpecker was reported by Bill Blackburn on a wooden fence on S side of CR 38E near where Trowbridge Dr comes in below Horsetooth Reservoir and W of S Taft Hill Road in Fort Collins on May 19.
LINCOLN COUNTY:
--A Field Sparrow and PURPLE FINCH were reported by Glenn Walbek on CR 27 on May 11. On May 14, Walbek reported PURPLE FINCH on CR 27.
--A McCown's Longspur was reported by Mlodinow on CR S and CR 23 to Karval on May 13.
LOGAN COUNTY:
--A Gray Flycatcher was reported by Joey Kellner at Prewitt on May 16.
MESA COUNTY:
--Black Phoebes were reported by Lee Stigen on the Auduon Trail in Grand Junction downstream from Redlands Power and Water Station on May 17.
--Henwood reported a Gray Flycatcher carrying nesting material in No Thoroughfare Canyon in Colorado National Monument on May 18.
MORGAN COUNTY:
--A Palm Warbler was reported by Alec Hopping at Jackson Lake SP on May 15. On May 17, David Dowell reported Palm Warbler at the campground of Jackson Lake SP.
--At Jackson Lake SP east of the dam, David Dowell reported 3 Caspian Terns and Lesser Black-backed Gull on May 17.
PHILLIPS COUNTY:
--A Summer Tanager was reported by Nathan Pieplow at Haxtun City Park on May 15.
PROWERS COUNTY:
Lamar Community College Woods (LCCW)
--A Prothonotary Warbler was reported by Jeannie Mitchell at LCCW on May 14.
RIO GRANDE COUNTY:
--A Green Heron was reported by Rawinski at Home Lake SWA on May 18. It was in the canal N of Home Lake.
SEDGWICK COUNTY:
--A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Hopping and Dowell in Ovid on May 16.
WASHINGTON COUNTY:
--A Worm-eating Warbler and Broad-winged Hawk were reported by David Dowell at Prewitt on May 17. The warbler was just east of below dam parking and caretaker's house.
WELD COUNTY:
--A LUCY'S WARBLER was reported by Leatherman at the Eaton Cemetery on May 10. On May 12, Leatherman reported that the LUCY'S WARBLER continues at Eaton Cemetery. On May 12, Nick Komar reported that the LUCY'S WARBLER was at Eaton Cemetery before nightfall with a flyover Broad-winged Hawk and probable LESSER NIGHTHAWK. ON May 13, Sue Riffe and several others reported LUCY'S WARBLER at Eaton Cemetery. On May 14, Nils Warnock reported LUCY'S WARBLER at Eaton Cemetery.
--At Crow Valley CG on May 11, Mlodinow reported Gray-cheeked Thrush and Fox Sparrow. Bring your high boots if you want to bird Crow Valley.
--A White-rumped Sandpiper and Whimbrel were reported by Mlodinow at Lower Latham Reservoir on May 11.
--A White-rumped Sandpiper was reported by Sue Riffe at Beebe Draw on May 11.
--At Crow Valley on May 16, Josh Bruening reported Yellow-throated Vireo at the east end of the park, Red-headed Woodpecker on a telephone pole near parking lot bordering CR 77 and Gray Flycatcher. At Crow Vally on May 18, Sue Riffe reported Great Crested Flycatcher, Yellow-throated Vireo, and Gray-cheeked Thrush.
--A Caspian Tern was reported by Judith Henderson at Lower Latham on May 16.
YUMA COUNTY:
--An ALDER FLYCATCHER was reported by Hopping in laird on May 16.
The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, May 23 will be to Pueblo Area led by Ira and Tammy Sanders (zroadrunner14 AT gmail.com; 303-278-7172). Meet the leaders at 0600 at SW corner of Safeway parking lot at NE corner of Yosemite and Cinoln Ave in Lone Tree about mile west of I-25. Park away from the store.
State Parks pass required. Bring lunch snacks, water, and sunblock. Will be birding Pueblo City Park, Valco Ponds, and other areas at the leader's discretion. Beet at 0600 and leaving no later than 0615. Be prepared to carpool. This is a comanion trip to May cay Burger's Canyon City trip on Sunday May 24. If you are planning on joining Mary Cay, you may want to make motel reservations in Pueblo or canyon City Please register online or contact leader to register.
The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, May 24 will be to Canon City led by Mary Cay Burger (mcburger3 AT juno.com; 303-771-3431). Meet at McDonalds restaurant at 0800, 2306 Fremont Drive, Canon City. This is on the north frontage road along Hwy 50 as you drive into town. Will have restroom stop there. Be ready to leave McDonalds by 0830. Full day will end about 1600. Pack a unch, snacks, plenty of water, and sunscreen. No parks pass required. This is a companion trip to Ira and Tammy Sander's trip to Pueblo on May 23. If you sign up for both trips, please make motel arrangements in either Canon City or Pueblo. On May 23-24, Mary Cay Burger may be reached on her cell phone: 720-940-8394. Please register online or contact leader to register. This trip is full.
The DFO Field Trip for Monday, May 25 will be to Mt Falcon Park led by Karen Drozda (drozforte AT AOL.com; 303-388-0891). Meet leader at upper parking lot of west side of Mount Falcon Park at 0700. From C-470 and US 285 SOuth, turn right at the Indian Hill exit to Parmalee Gulch Road. Follow Parmalee Gulch Road for aproximately 2.6 miles to Picturis Road, turn right at Picturis, then follow signs for Mt Falcon to upper parking area. Much of trip is in sun. Bring hat, sunscreen, bug spray, lots of water, hearty snacks, binoculars, Scope (Optional). Great photo opportunities. Possible inclement weather. Bring layers and rain gear.
