I was able to get good looks at the canyon wren at Tunnel Drive that John Drummond reported hearing yesterday. Haven't seen one here in quite a while. Sells pond had a snow goose, Ross' goose, and greater white-fronted goose. I also saw the stub-tailed wren near the first bench on the Canon City River Walk entering from Reynolds. Quite sure this was a Pacific wren, though the chatter really did sound like a winter wren. Throat was a rich buffy orange and dark overall. By the time I dropped the binoculars and picked up the camera he was gone. Dipped on the yellow-bellied sapsucker at Rouse Park and the rufous-crowned sparrow at Tunnel Drive (again).
