[cobirds] Common Redpoll juvenile

Hi Cobrders. On Friday Jan 9 Ilooked in my telescop set on the Nijer thistle feeeder in the Olive tree. There were two American Goldfinches and a
new bird. About same size. It had round dark gray on top of its head , a mostly yellow stubby bill, no black under the bill. The back was pretty brown
with paler streaks in upper area.

I checked the newest Sibley and under Common Redpoll he listed Juvenile with note that some juveniles do not have red on their head or black under
the bill. So a new yardbird for me.

The invasion of Redpolls a year ago did not send any my way. I do not remember any juvenile reports also.

If I didn't have the telescope on this bird it would of been difficult to identify.

Good birding all.
