Before the lot became full, the American Woodcock was seen by about a dozen birders thanks to the keen eyes of Sue Quinlan.

The woodcock is having some respite from all the attention today. Pulled into Bobcat Ridge 12:45pm today and Ranger Fred was turning cars away because the lot was full (of cyclists mainly). He insisted there was no spot to park for 10 minutes to do a quick scan for the bird. Consider avoiding this park on weekends when the weather is nice, unless you get there at dawn. Probably a good thing for the bird to get some peace and quiet.
