[cobirds] Barrow's Goldeneye, Adams County

I spent a few hours this morning along the Platte, up and down from Platte River Trailhead Park. The highlights were a male Barrow's goldeneye (south of the trailhead at 88th at that time, but moving north) and 4 bald eagles. There were hundreds of ducks, including buffleheads, hooded mergansers in a pond north of 88th, and lots of male green-winged teal making their high-pitched courtship calls. It was interesting to me that the pintails were already paired up and the teals were going in that direction, but the goldeneyes were apparently still single, since there were twice as many females as males.
