COBirders,
-- Please no visitors after midday today, and none in the next few days if she sticks around through the cold.
Our magnificent vagrant just visited the feeder. It is breezy but (relatively) warm and so maybe she didn't need an earlier pick me up. (Observers might not find it so warm.) She flew over about 6:20 but only just came to the feeder at 6:50. Maybe because I was out enjoying the sunrise:
... but maybe because she was very active at the feeder yesterday while the snow melted, before returning to insect hunting.
Yesterday brought us the yard regulars but also Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles, Red-tailed Hawks, Pine Grosbeak and Cassin's Finches. Recently I've enjoyed Brown Creepers, a rafter of Turkey and a Shrike on a wire up by the two horse fields on the way to the house.
regards,
Adam
