Here are some highlights from the DFO field trip lead today by Ed Holub at Chatfield. Thanks Ed!
Below the dam (east side of the last parking lot). Very land birdy (lots of thistle and other seedy weeds).
One broad-winged hawk. Hundreds of American tree sparrow. A convention of house finch. At least six red-tailed hawk.
West side of damn road.
Three mountain bluebird! One Townsend's solitaire.
Fishing pier and sand spit.
Fifty or so American white pelican. One northern harrier. One western meadowlark (south).
Heron Overlook.
Hundreds of common merganser. One common loon. One double-crested cormorant. One immature (white belly) black scoter. One mature bald eagle.
Great day to be out birding!
Anyone else who was on this trip, please comment if I missed something stand out. :)
