[cobirds] Sandhill Cranes, Mountain Bluebirds, Boulder County

Hi all,

This afternoon, on North 39th Street in Boulder (1 dirt road east of Hwy. 36 and south of Nelson Road) there was a huge flock of Mountain Bluebirds.  They were on both sides of the road, sitting on the wires and on every twig that would hold their weight.  I would estimate at least 300.

At 5:15, while at my home on St. Vrain Road, west of Hygiene, a flock of 30 Sandhill Cranes croaked their way north.

I still have a single Harris's Sparrow coming to my feeding area, and spending the nights in the brush pile.

Cheers, Pam Piombino
