The temps are warming and the south winds are favorable today for cranes to be spiraling upward. I am sure some will be leaving today. Birds are now well spread out across the valley as many grainfields are being used. The white crane photos are being reviewed by some crane specialists and I hope to have a better idea on what it was. The white crane is no longer being seen.
A Say's Phoebe showed up yesterday but that is about right on time.
Other birds of interest were 12 Snow Geese, Lesser Scaup, Canvasback, and 12 Franklins Gulls. Many ponds are open and the waterbirds are quick to settle in.
