Our feeders have been exceptionally busy the last few days with as many at 50-60 Pinyon Jays coming in - especially in the morning
A pair of Lewis's Woodpeckers has been in the neighborhood for some time...but yesterday one started coming to our backyard feeders! It is one of the first birds here in the morning and the last to leave in the evening. It will defend both the suet and bird seed block, will grab a sunflower seed from our large feeder and retreat to the power pole just across the street. This is only the second time we have had Lewis's visit the feeders.
We still have two Harris's Sparrows coming in on a daily basis
25-30 Evening Grosbeaks visit intermittently throughout the day
50-60 Pine Siskins
3 Spotted Towhees
20 or so American Goldfinches
6 or so Black-capped Chickadees
7 Blue Jays
4 Stellar's Jays
2 Hairy Woodpeckers
2 Downy Woodpeckers
2 White-breasted Nuthatches
30 or so Dark-eyed Juncos with one being a lovely White-winged.
and a couple of White-crowned Sparrows
Good birding!
