Re: [cobirds] How about "Colorado Birding Forum"

I believe that is what COBIRDS is currently.  Why would we need something new, if that is what you are proposing?  This forum serves all of those purpose and it does have some basic rules although sometimes they are forgotten.  This group is sponsored by CFO.  https://cobirds.org/

COBIRDS is not the RBA, the RBA was a daily feature posted in COBIRDS that some volunteers from DFO and beyond took a lot of time to compile as a service to others.  COBIRDS is not going away. People are still free to post here and share their rare bird sightings and have discussions, etc.

Wow. It seems that the CoBirds RBA has caught the virus and died. RIP. It was a great run and sincere thanks to Joyce and all who did it for so many years!

I like the suggestion that it continue as a forum for discussing Colorado birds and neat birding experiences. We are already doing that. Dave Leatherman and Ted Floyd would continue to contribute their birding adventures and keen insights. Any of us could do that. We could discuss topics like "Where has Tucker Gulch been all my life? Why was it so hot this year?" SWA access problems etc. Bryan Guarante's wind condition alerts. It would not prohibit discussion of rare birds like Fork-tailed Flycatchers or the Pterodactyl that Ira Sanders photographed flying over his house. But the primary reporting of rare birds would fall to eBird. More emphasis on bird watching than bird listing.

Who would sponsor it? CFO? DFO? Both jointly? We would need a referee or referees and some basic rules.
