On my walk this morning in SW Loveland, I found the eastern meadowlark again at the north end of Bud Mielke reservoir. It perched again on the fence that runs north from the north end of the reservoir, just past the trees and bee hives. Picture attached.
Traveling west along the dirt road from the meadowlark, I observed a male bobolink on the south side of the road, about 50 ft. from where the dirt road tees into CR 19, near the Triple Three mule ranch. Picture attached.
Turning south on CR 19, I rounded the curve and headed west again. South of the road just past the curve, I observed a golden eagle on the nest about a half mile south. A lady at that location with a spotting scope told me that the eaglet had been on the nest stretching its wings. I took a photo, but it was beyond the reach of my BHL (big honkin' lens).
Finally, on my way home I found a white faced ibis on the stretch of SW 28th street that is unpaved, west of Taft. It was on the north side of the road in a low part of the field. Photo attached.
All in all, a very interesting walk!
Dan
