Thanks to all for your replies. No, I have no nest nearby. In the 42 years I've lived here (just south of Crown Hill Open Space) I've only heard
-- them in mid-winter, usually no later than mid-February, and not very often. Now that I've heard your suggestions, I'll keep my eyes peeled
for them.
