Getting to "It's a female American Redstart!" Fundamentals of Passerine Identification
Join Meredith McBurney, long-time bander for the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies for a 2-part webinar on Passerine Identification. There are approximately 175 birds classified as Passerines/songbirds that can be seen in Colorado sometime during the year. Add in some rarities, and we are talking about a lot of birds to sort out. These webinars will combine lectures and quizzes to help you improve your ability to identify these relatively small, usually active birds. This workshop is aimed at those who are relatively new to birding and those who would like to sharpen their identification skills.
Registration is FREE but required for BOTH Part 1 and Part 2:
Part 1 will be held Thursday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
Part 2 will be held the following Thursday, April 30, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
Participants are encouraged to:
• Have their favorite birding guide handy
• Review the section in their birding guide on topography of a Passerine before the webinar
