[cobirds] Brown Booby "massive" range expansion, 2015

FYI,

According to Dave Ziolkowski, the main project biologist for the
USGS Breeding Bird Survey in Washington, D.C., brown
boobies wandered far to the north along the west and east coasts of
North America last year -- up to Alaska and to the northeastern states
(see a funny account of one showing up in CT).

On the west coast, brown booby wanderings are thought to have been in response to changing ocean currents.  Biologists are still plotting locations of brown booby sightings and plugging them in to models in an attempt to understand why this happened.

Dave said they are anxiously awaiting what happens this year....
