[cobirds] Corvid Challenge

Well, it’s not exactly like being the first to document breeding by BAIS in Colorado, but here is a challenge for you in you are in the Boulder area, especially in the evenings, over the next few weeks.  The Meadows Branch of the Boulder Public Library is nestled on the back side of the Meadows Shopping Center at Baseline and Foothill.  Just west of the Library is the loading dock for the Safeway store that anchors the shopping center.  That loading dock is the apparent nesting site of a pair of large black corvids.  In the hot of the evening they perch in the shade of the rear-most light fixture while there is an obvious nest on the outer most fixture.  The nest has  been there for at least 3 years now, but the birds—are they Common Ravens or Chihuahuan Ravens?  Too big to be crows in my limited vision, but which raven would nest in an industrial site in a city?
