[cobirds] Saturday, July 23, 9-12, Butterflies at Arapaho Ranch

This field trip is brought to you by Boulder County Audubon.  This original destination for this trip was Caribou Ranch, Boulder County Open Space.  Due to the Cold Springs Fire, we have moved it to Arapaho Ranch and had to limit the number of participants.

Butterflies at Arapaho Ranch: Parnassians, Skippers, Checkerspots and So Much More

Saturday, July 23, 2016 9:00 a.m.-12:00
Free, Limited to 12, reservations at:  piombino.pam@gmail.com
Leaders: Amy Chu and Jan Chu

Join Amy and Jan for a morning of high elevation butterfly viewing in the verdant meadows of the private Arapaho Ranch. Butterflies abound amongst the flowering shrubs and plants in this exceptional parcel of mountain riparian and treed rocky slopes. Expect to see Parnassians, Queen Alexandra's Sulphurs, Blues and Coppers, various Checkerspots, Northern Crescents, Fritillaries, Wood Nymphs and Common Ringlets.  Amy and Jan will help the group key in on the subtle field marks of the often hard to identify skippers.

Meet at the town of Nederland free parking lot, after the roundabout and on the right side. Participants can opt to stay after the outing and enjoy the buffet lunch at Katmandu Nepalese Restaurant.  Information:  Amy Chu,  303 494 1108.
