I went back out to Blanca Wetlands today to look for any migrants shorebirds that might've dropped in. Not much shorebird wise although I did have 4 Snowy Plovers at various locations.
The Western Gull is still hanging around, although it was not at 115. It was on the large pond east of the North Mallard parking area, along with the previously reported Lesser Black-backed Gull (entering 2nd cycle?), California, Ring-billed, and a few Franklin's Gulls...a 5 gull sp. day in July in the San Luis Valley, not to shabby.
Good birding,
Sam Fason, Colorado Springs
