Can anyone confirm that what I heard is true, that the AOU has recently voted to split the Olive-backed LEGO?
Those pesky taxonomists have been at it again, and the split is supposed to take place soon - on January 1, 2016. *
Yea! I get to add a species to my Ecuador list!
Olive-backed LEGO is being split into the coastal species, the "Greenish-backed LEGO" and the inland species
the "Mossy-backed LEGO," Legans bryophyta. The key to telling them apart is that the dorsal aspect of the
sluggish inland species is mostly mossy, especially on its north side.
It is found in mossy areas of the tropics - mostly.
Whereas the frenetic "Greenish-backed" species, Legans frenzyi, gathers no....
well, you know.
