About 2:30 pm I relocated one of the Long-tailed Ducks reported yesterday from the handicapped fishermans area by the marina. The bird was way out with the hordes of common mergs. One bonapartes gull flew around. I also saw a leucistic grebe, presumably western. The bird was with other westerns. The birds' head is all white and rest of the body is very light gray, making it really really hard to spot in the overcast and drizzly conditions. I saw the bird pop up while looking at other birds thru my scope. Blink and it's almost gone. Neat bird. No photos tho.
Good birding,
