This same week in June two years ago I led a field trip that included the opportunity to see and listen to Dickcissel in a hay field in Canon City on the east side of MacKenzie Ave just north of Grandview. While there were Bobolinks in that field in 2013 there are none this year but at two Dickcissel that are singing frequently. Dickcissel are at their western edge when they breed in the Canon City area so they are not regular breeders here.
Please be aware that MacKenzie Ave in a very busy road with traffic often driving above the 40 mph speed limit. There is limited pull off (grassy) area so please be careful if you park and walk on the edge of MacKenzie. You can also hear and see one of the Dickcissel by turning east on Grandview Ave and driving a few hundred feet where you can pull over onto a grassy edge on the north side of this street. One of the Dickcissel is often in the single tall juniper tree a few hundred feet north in the hay field (best to bring your spotting scope to see him very well). Grandview is not nearly as busy or has traffic driving as fast as MacKenzie but the now repurposed Women's Prison is at the end of the road and there is a lot of traffic for this secondary road.
