[cobirds] Dickcissel in hayfield on MacKenzie in Canon City update--lots of movement, chasing, consorting with females

The male Dickcissel I have reported on that are in the hayfield adjacent to MacKenzie Ave in Canon City continue to sing much of the day.  Today they were unusually active, flying around more with at least 4 chases (could not tell if both male or if male and female).  They were coming to near the roadway to perch in the tall trees that line the fenceline so I was able to observe them from pretty close distances and get the close-up pic above from about 20 feet away.  I have uploaded two photos onto my Birds and Nature blog along with discussion of behavior.  I have more about the female(s) I saw  but it is getting late so will post more tomorrow.

Hoping that the good rain we got yesterday will delay the cutting of the hay field these Dickcissel are in.
