[cobirds] Common Nighthawk, Pueblo

COBirders,

About 20 minutes ago I heard a familiar call in the sky while in my back yard.  I looked up and confirmed a solitary Common Nighthawk.  When growing up over 60 years ago in the Midwest large flocks of this species were ubiquitous.  The booming of their wings was quite distinct and I believe most rural people recognized what many of them called “bull-bats”.  They were also fairly common 35 years ago in Pueblo and Custer counties.  Now, unfortunately, hearing/seeing one gives me a pang of nostalgia and the urge to report it to COBirds.
