More clues.....
When we left at about 5pm the Am Woodcock was in the same place it was at 7:30 this morning. The bird moved around quite a bit during the day but ended up in the same place next to the creek. Dave Leatherman tied some grass around the wood rail fence this morning to mark the spot. The wood rail fence is between the road and the creek and the spot is about 5 vertical rails from the end (the end being the most upstream spot and adjacent to the first house on the right hand side of the road). Still really hard to find with the awesome cryptic coloration of the bird but perhaps this will help!

Cowbirds,
The American Woodcock was seen & photographed by 13 birders this evening.
We finally saw it along the creek by the entrance to Bobcat Ridge NA. Park on the side of the road just before the entrance to the NA. Walk up stream until the house on the left. It was seen in that area feeding along the stream.
