I spotted a Harlan's Red-tailed Hawk on the east side of Canon City late this afternoon that had a very white face that makes them ghostly distinctive. I got some photos of it that I have uploaded to my Birds and Nature blog with discussion of field marks that are visible in my photos.
Also saw a Spotted Towhee today and observed Curve-billed Thrashers in cholla cactus pairing up. Had a single Evening Grosbeak come to my feeders over the week-end, unfortunately when it was snowing and little seed in the tray feeders-maybe a scout but haven't seen any again. Canon City
