[cobirds] Marston Reservoir, Denver

Did a bit of birding at Marston Reservoir today from 2pm-3pm. Many, many Ring-billed Gulls on the east and west sides both, sitting on ice and in the water. From the east side, [Bow Mar Dr.], there was 1, ad. Lesser Black-backed Gull, and Hooded Mergansers. A few California Gulls were on the ice here also, along with 5 Herring Gulls.

Going to the west side, of Marston, looking from the fence off of S. Wadsworth[across from gray apartment buildings], were  6 Herring Gulls on the ice and a 1st winter Glaucous Gull. After seeing this Glaucous a very large totally white Gull flew overhead and all I could see was the large size and white color. I'm guessing this bird was another Glaucous. One ad. Thayer's Gull was seen from this west side. Lot's of Canada Geese, and American Coots were at Marston. Remember these Gulls fly back and forth and totally away from the lake a lot.

Happy Birding!
