Birders,
I had to do some business today in Colorado Springs, and took the "long
way" between Las Animas and the Springs via State Highways 71 and 94.
Acting on information from Mark Peterson, I stopped at the intersection
of Lincoln County Road 11.6 and Highway 94, about 15 miles west of
Punkin Center.
I immediately spotted the Snowy Owl previously reported by Kellner et
al. on January 26th. It was sitting on the ground in a field in the
valley beyond the trees, NNE of the intersection where I parked.
Good luck to those who try for this owl.
