A fifth Ross’s Goose (ad.) has joined the 4 that have been at the Tinseltown Pond in the ‘Springs since late December (on ice in PM).
A Snow Goose was new today (PM) with geese at Big Stratton Res. (Lake Ave.) With the water opening, I was amazed to see frolicking Canada Geese jumping and diving like grebes for 3-4 seconds (!?). They were also doing a forward cartwheel-flip (legs up!). Interesting.
Prospect and Quail Lakes opening too with nice mix of birds.
