Birders,
The white-phase Reddish Egret first reported on 7/5/13 at Adobe Creek
Reservoir in Kiowa County was still present on 7/6. When I arrived, it
was in the same location where it was seen yesterday, 200 yards east of
the easternmost camping unit in the SE part of the lake. At around 8:15,
it spontaneously flew about 1/2 mile to the northeast, in the extreme
eastern part of the remaining lake. It would be harder to see at the new
location, but it is likely to return to the original spot, or should be
visible with a spotting scope. The live electric fence marks private
property. Please don't trespass north of the fence.
