[cobirds] Yuma and Phillips Highlights

Greetings All

I spent my rather surprising day in Wray and Holyoke, with a stop or two in between

Stalker Lake:
Blackpoll Warbler
14 White-rumped Sandpipers
Baltimore Oriole + multiple hybrids
7 N Cardinals

Town of Wray, from city park, past emergency room, north through town
SINGING GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER In City park
52 Pine Siskins at a feeder
multiple Baltimore Orioles and hybrids with Bullock's

Yuma County Road 54, just e. of hwy between Wray and Holyoke, in Yuma
Shelterbelt to east of Hwy, along co rd 54, birdable from rd:
1 singing YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER

Holyoke Cemetery
I arrived there whilst there were many folks attending scattered graves. I birded the cemetery carefully to keep out of their way. When I arrived, the place was lousy with birds; an hour later, nearly all migrants had vanished
GRAY VIREO- truly gobsmacking rarity
Nashville Warbler
American Redstart
Baltimore Orioles
Evening Grosbeak (2)- another wild-eyed surprise, though not as much so as the Gray Vireo.

Lions Fishing Hole, just east of Holyoke
Green Heron

Area around Golf Course, accessible from e. end of Akron at n. end of town
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Broad-winged Hawk
ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER

Haxtun STP
Red-necked Phalarope (good for Phillips)
BC Night Heron (good for Phillips)

Good Birding
