[cobirds] Palm Warbler, Yellow-throated Vireo Colorado Springs (El Paso)

This morning I found a western Palm Warbler on the lake side (Prospect Lake) of the recreation building at Memorial Park in downtown Colorado Springs feeding in very short bushes next to a wall.

 

Later at Fountain Creek Regional Park, I heard and eventually photographed a infrequently singing Yellow-throated Vireo along the irrigation ditch in the vicinity of the wooden bridge over the irrigation ditch and immediately behind (large cottonwoods) the “In Loving Memory” bench for L. Mitchell. This is only ~160 meters south of the “Grandfather Cottonwood” and likely the same bird found yesterday by Lee Farese.

 

At the “Grandfather Plains Cottonwood” were two male Blackpoll Warblers (previously reported by Lee Farese).

 

In an under-birded spot between Duckwook Parking area and the Hanson Nature Park in the southern sections of FCRP and within a few feet of Fountain Creek was a singing Indigo Bunting (2 feet off the ground) alongside a silent male Lazuli Bunting.
