Had a long-billed curlew along Hanover Road this morning on my way to Chico Basin Ranch. The bird was in a distant field with a large group of gulls and geese about 2.5 miles from Old Pueblo Road. The field was to the northeast of the road.
Chico had my first barn swallow of the year. There were also burrowing owls, two greater yellowlegs at the headquarters pond, a flock of American white pelicans, one Franklin's gull, and two mountain plovers.
