[cobirds] Yellow-throated Warbler/Pueblo City Park 12/08

Hi all,

At least six birders were able to get nice looks at the Yellow-throated Warbler in Pueblo City Park this morning.  The big sycamore trees east and west of the Administration Building was the place.  We first saw it today at 740am, which is the earliest in the day I've seen it.  9am-1130am seems to be a good time to see it usually.  The big question is, if the colder weather coming tonight, will move it away or not.  It seems to be finding bugs and seeds in the sycamore trees.  I usually seems to find this bird, by hearing it chipping.  Sometime the bird hangs out alone, without other birds, and sometimes there are other birds around.  If it stays around one more week, it would be a new bird for the Pueblo Reservoir CBC list.  The Pueblo Reservoir CBC has had 10 species of warblers, on the count over the years, or during count week.  Yellow-throated and Wilson's, as well as Northern Parula would all be new ones.

Other birds today:  Stan Oswald and I saw a juvenile Yellow-bellied Sapsucker in the eastern part of the park, close to Calla Drive.  We also saw two Pygmy Nuthatches in the western part of the park, in the Frisbee golf course area.

Good birding,
