[cobirds] Anthem Ponds - Broomfield counties

Hello,

A quick drive around this morning revealed ponds in Anthem still hold some open water and good numbers of waterfowl and gulls, including Siena Lake and the Anthem ponds at both sides of Lowell Blvd. (south of Hwy 7).
The pond to the east of Lowell held some 200 Ring-billed gulls with 4 larger gulls, possibly Herrings. The pond on the west side had 2 Canvasbacks, plus a few hundred white-cheeked geese, and a few dozen Ring-necked Ducks and Common Goldenyes. Siena held a handful of Redheads and Coots and a single Common Merganser, plus an assortment of the same birds.
It should only improve with the next cold front!
Happy holidays and good birdin'!
