Cobirders,
On account of the cold and slight skiff of snow, after returning from
the Western Slope this afternoon, I went to put out some seed at the
feeders behind the Red Rocks Trading Post. To my surprise when I
arrived, there were a small group (6-10) of Rosy-Finches at the
feeders including Brown-capped and Gray-crowned (including
Hepburn's). I did not see any Black Rosy-Finches, but I was only
there a few minutes. Normally the Rosy-Finches show up when there is
cold and significant snow cover, so I was not expecting to se them
today. Thanks to the folks who had scattered some seed earlier in the
day. I will try to get out early in the AM and put out some seed - I
would bet the Rosy-Finches will return early in the morning.
