Subject: fotobirding PA-CO-TX

This past month of October we [partner & I] visited relatives in Bedford, PA & Colo. Spgs., CO. I was able to squeeze some birding & photography into this schedule. I birded in Pensylvania-Colorado-Texas with my camera.

While visiting relatives in Bedford, PA we were driving down the highway outside of Bedford when one of our relatives pointed and said "theres an owl". They couldn't stop on the Interstate besides no camera or binos handy. I thought Long-eared Owl I caught a mere glance of the thing. This was during daylight.
•
One eve while driving somewhere in OH on I-70, a large very light colored – almost whitish thing flashed in front of our headlights. I think Barn Owl – if it was it narrowly avoided becoming road-kill
•
I looked for Eurasain Tree Sparrow in the St. Louis area but fizzled out on this one. Instead I did see lots House Sparrows. I did observe this species in the early 80's while traveling through the St. Louis area at Frank Holten SP.

Somewhere over central KS on I-70 I caught a very quick glimpse of Scissor-tailed Flycatcher – small, roundish body with a very long tail. Was not able to stop on the interstate.
