[cobirds] Colorado Birding Challenge is May 7- not too late to join

Dear Colorado Birders,

With just a few days before our Big Day on Saturday, we have 40 Colorado Birding Challenge teams participating in 27 counties and we have reached almost 50% of our fundraising goal!

On behalf of the Board of Colorado Field Ornithologists, I thank the hundreds of participants and donors who have stepped up for this important cause - conserving the habitat of Gunnison Sage-Grouse. I'm particularly excited to welcome our first team participating in Gunnison County. Team Centrocercus is captained by Professor Patrick Magee, who has worked for decades to protect the Gunnison Sage-Grouse. Please consider donating through his Colorado Birding Challenge fundraising page here:  https://charity.pledgeit.org/f/sng4XrRS3V

Don't see your favorite county covered? JOIN US and represent that county. The challenge is May 7th and the weather is supposed to be FANTASTIC.

Participation is EASY:
-Gather a group of 2-4 friends, family, or coworkers to form a team (solo "teams" can register in the non-competing category).
-Decide what category you want to be in - Green, Big Sit, Automobile, Photo/Audio, Youth, Non-competing
Register - a team leader should create the team and then all team members can join it
-Solicit donations - Reach out to your networks to get their support
-May 7th - Bird, Bird, Bird!
-If you cannot join us as a team captain or participant, please help CFO and the Gunnison Sage-Grouse by donating generously. Instructions and more info at www.Cobirds.org/CoBC-details/.

Sincerely,

Nick Komar, President
Colorado Field Ornithologists
