[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Chico Basin Ranch banding 5/11/22

Another nice day of bird diversity. Twenty-one species captured this day. Three species were new for the season including: Willow Flycatcher, Western Tanager, and Western Wood-pewee. 
44 New Birds Banded:
Willow Flycatcher -1
Western Wood-pewee -1
Yellow Warbler -2
Virginia Warbler -1
Wilson Warbler -1
Audubon's (Yellow-rumped) Warbler -6
Common Yellowthroat -1
Ovenbird -1
Yellow-breasted Chat -1
House Wren -4
Lincoln Sparrow -1
Hermit Thrush -6
Swainson's Thrush -1
Black-headed Grosbeak -1
Rose-breasted Grosbeak -1
Bullock's Oriole -1
Northern Mockingbird -2
Western Tanager -6
Brown Thrasher -4

4 Recaptures
Brown Thrasher-2 (Repeat and a Returning bird from previous years)
American Robin - 1
Hooded Warbler - 1 repeat (gained 1 gram since yesterday! almost 15% gain in weight! )
Yellow-breasted Chat - 1 repeat


We'll be open 6 days a week through May 27th, closed on Monday May 16th and 23rd. We'll be returning from the first net run at about 6:30am. Stop by and visit when you are out there!
