Hi all
Highlights from weekend. Crom Lake got its fall ration--so full again. CR 84/31 marsh and Crom Lake both had calling Sora. CR 74/61 ponds have not gone down yet. CR 124 pond excellent for shorebirds now as is CR 116/Hwy 77 playa, CR 122/Hwy 77 playa, and CR 59 marsh. Loloff Reservoir had some birds but CR 59 far better last few weekends. Did not get to Stewart's Pond but last few trips still full-looking.
CR 102/41-area had:
- Sage Thrasher - 2
CR 55 north of 108 about mile or so flooded field had:
- Baird's Sandpiper - 16
- Killdeer - 9
CR 108, east of CR 55, flooded field had:
- Solitary Sandpiper - 5+
- Baird's Sandpiper - 12
- Killdeer - 37
CR 124 pond had:
- Wilson's Snipe
- Sora
- Greater Yellowlegs - 9
- Solitary Sandpiper - 3
- Spotted Sandpiper - 2
- Great-tailed grackle
- Bank Swallow - 14
CPER has loads of Lark Bunting, Grasshopper Sparrow, saw quite a few Common Nighthawk airborne, on fenceposts and on telephone wires.
I'll post photos probably tomorrow.

Hi allWhile browsing my weekend photos I was looking at a Burrowing Owl one and "low and behold" in the field puddle is a Black-bellied Plover! Owl colony is about two miles east of the Galeton Ponds at CR 74/61, passed CR 65 along CR 74 on the south--adjacent to a small farm op. At base of a small rise in 74, trucks use this road a lot so be extra careful. If bird is not there could be at CR 74/61 ponds or any of the other nearby ponds. I missed the plover because I was focused on getting owl pic and "not being run over by a truck." :-)I'll post rest of weekend excursion in a bit.
