[cobirds] Cat Lake gulls, snowy egrets, and American white pelicans - Adams County

All,

Cat Lake (name on Google maps) sits on the west side of the Platte River Trail in between I-270 and I-76 in Adams County.  Easiest access is likely from Columbine Street, which parallels I-270 on the south side of the lake, north side of 270.  Alternately, the parking lot about 3/4 mile north at 74th and the Platte River Trail will work.

Several weeks ago, this lake started to be drained, and it is down very low to a couple of smaller lakes.  I haven't scoped them, but there are likely a couple of hundred gulls hanging out in various spots, so there may be some goodies in there.  If you want to see large numbers of snowy egrets, there are probably 50-100 hanging out there, along with a dozen or so American white pelicans.
