As many of you know Dr. Ron Ryder passed away a number of years ago.
Since his passing I have been receiving his band recoveries from the
banding laboratory.
I just received a band recovery of one of his California Gulls that he
banded on 9/16/1984 in Colorado and it was just found dead on
3/5/2019 in Weld County making it a 35 year old bird. According to the
website Wildlife Expectancy, California Gulls are expected to live
for 20-24 years.
