Saturday ... Weld CR 61/74, Weld CR 59 marsh ponds (just south of Hwy 34), Woods Lake on north, playas at Weld CR 122/77 and 116/77, and Weld CR 94/37 gravel pit all have exposed shorelines and sandbar now. Best bets for shorebirds at the moment. Latham and Beebe-areas bone dry. These water bodies are still full: Crom, Cozzens, and Stewart's (both bodies).

• 11 Stilt Sandpiper, avocets, greater yellowlegs, stilts and Long-billed Dowitcher at Weld CR 61/74 ponds
• Baird's and Least Sandpiper at Weld CR 116/77 playa
• 10 Chestnut-collared Longspur (2-3 families on road) along Weld CR 45 btw 112 and 116. Badger pair (photos) has burrow in NE of intersection not too far off road
• Burrowing Owl (): Weld CR 47 .5m S of 46 on W (2+); Weld CR 33 btw 98/100 (2+); Weld CR 49 .5m S of 102 on E (6+); and Weld CR 59 .25m N of 74 on W (1+)
• Wild Turkey mom with 11 poults in tow

We've had a family of Loggerhead Shrike attacking everything in the yard-which is cool to watch for last 1-2 weeks.
