Yesterday my mom and I went down to Huerfano County.
Our first stop was Rouse Rd. (Santa Clara Creek) where there were Bewicks Wrens, Ash Throated Flycatchers, and amazing looks at Cassin's Kingbirds pretty quickly. Blue Grosbeaks, Black-Headed Gosbeaks, Western tanagers, and Lesser Goldfinches were extremely abundant. But even cooler the Hepatic Tanagers continue for the ??? year in a row, aswell as a single Juniper Titmouse, Gray Flycatcher, and Woodhouses Scrub Jay.
At Lathrop State Park while scanning the cliffs we came across a Greater Roadrunner which posed nicely for digiscoping, and it appears to be uncommon for the state park and the first one of the year for Lathrop. There were also 9 Juniper Titmice(Titmouses?), a single Canyon Towhee, Rock Wrens, and one Curve-Billed thrasher skulking under a Juniper. There was also an interesting Indigo Bunting that I think could have been a hybrid, but he was singing a song that sounded much more like an Indigo bunting, so I will have to study up on him.
