Cobirders
On the way back to Denver from South Fork this morning, Ann and I birded Saguache county road 38A near Penitente Canyon. It was fun to find Brewer's Sparrows and get some photos and a recording. Also in the area were Vesper Sparrows and Sage Thrashers. See list below for song and photos.

Atlas II says Brewer's Sparrows do a second nest, so that may explain why they are still singing on territory. Penitente Canyon is one of Colorado's hidden gems for hiking, rock climbing, biking and cool history.
Also, The Mystic Biscuit in Del Norte makes great biscuits.
