The "Black-backed Gull" I mentioned was a Lesser Black-backed.

This afternoon Cooley Lake had a good number of gulls for the first time I've noticed this season. Ring-billed was most numerous, with small numbers of California and Herring. Highlights were a 1st cycle Black-backed Gull, 1 Bonaparte's Gull, and a fly over 1st cycle Thayer's Gull. Flocks of Canada and Cackling Geese were flying around, with a Greater White-fronted Goose in one of the flocks.
