[cobirds] October Birds, Woodland Park and Surrounding Area, All 5 Juncos

Highlight in Oct. was the juncos, for a few days in late Oct. had all 5 subspecies in the yard area: Gray-headed (resident), Pink-sided, Oregon, White-winged and Slate-colored. Good numbers of Pink-sided continued into Nov. along with a few Slate-colored.

House Finch family found the feeder area in early Oct., new to yard area, gone by end of month
Starling, occ. visits to yard area in late Oct.
Brown Creeper, 1 on 10-25
Great Horned Owl, calling in early Oct.

Three-toed Woodpecker- 1 on Crags Lookout Trail S of Divide on 10-3, 1 on 10-21 at Ormes Peak Area off of Rampart Range Rd., E of Pikes Peak
Shrike, along Rampart Range Rd. on 10-21, Lovell Gulch Trail on 10-28
Peregrine Falcon, 1 on 10-3 at Crags Lookout trailhead S of Divide
Dusky Grouse, 4 along Goose Creek Trail, Lost Creek Wilderness W of Deckers on 10-16
Red-naped/Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 1 calling on 10-16 along Wigwam Creek Trail, Lost Creek Wilderness W of Deckers
Western Bluebird, 5, Dome Rock SWA S of Divide on 10-18
Townsend's Solitaire, singing in Cascade on 10-9 and 10-23
Clark's Nutcracker, on 10-16 along Wigwam Creek Trail, Lost Creek Wilderness W of Deckers
Brewer's Blackbird, flocking in Woodland Park area in early Oct., gone by mid- Oct.
Gray Jay, on Crags Lookout Trail S of Divide on 10-3
Eurasian Collared-Dove, occ. seen in Woodland Park area
