[cobirds] Northern Pygmy-owl

I was doing some photography of a Northern Pygmy-owl recently when something very unusual happened. It took me quite by surprise. You can see what surprised me by checking out the "Recent Additions" on my photography website below. The owl is on private lands.

Did a quick birding trip in the San Luis Valley today and ice is taking control on most lakes. Waterbirds are clinging to the last little open water spots. Good day in Costilla County (all of these around Smith Res SWA) with Merlin, Prairie Falcon, Ferruginous Hawk, RL Hawk, Common Goldeneye, and a late Western Grebe.

Happy birding.....
