[cobirds] Ken Caryl Valley and South Platte Reservoir, Oct 10

This morning a tardy female American Redstart was along Massey Draw in the area below my home in Ken Caryl Valley, Jefferson Co. A Northern Mockingbird there was notable for the location; this was only my 4th observation of the species in the KC Valley in three years. This afternoon a party of 16 Sandhill Cranes flew over quite high up, heading southeast at the time. It has otherwise been quiet for migrants today.

At late morning the female type Surf Scoter continued in the Arapahoe County portion of South Platte Reservoir, steadfastly snoozing. It was the only bird on the water in the whole reservoir during my visit.
