Re: [cobirds] Sangre De Cristo Owl

That looks like a Nor. Saw-whet Owl.

Good day Ladies and Gentlemen-

While elk hunting in the mountains around grape creek in the SDC's a little owl no bigger than a canteen swooped in to pay us a visit.  Very curious little neat creature.  I was wondering what kind it could be.  I've seen hundreds of birds swoop in on my and I personally think their amazing to watch in their search for food.  Except the cow elk sounding bird up in the mountains, pain in the arse.

It's not the best of pictures, after the picture was taken and it took off I started thinking about the movie about alien abduction in Alaska where the owls were seen peering into the windows on the night of the abduction haha.  But seriously if you know what it is from this grainy picture that would be cool to find out.  Thanks.
